Emmerson Eggerichs said something that really hit me. When you feel resistance from your husband, ask him if something you said or did came across as disrespectful (vice versa for men—ask wives if they’ve been unloving). I have been amazed at how “right on the money” this has been. There is so little in the Bible that speaks directly to the topic of marriage—except Ephesians 5 (Husbands love your wives. Wives respect your husbands.) This leads me to believe that this information must be very important and we need to pay more attention to it.
