In this week’s video, we share how bitterness may be destroying your marriage. People aren’t always quick to talk about how sin can block your relationship with your spouse. The sin we are referring to this week is bitterness. And when we insist on holding onto bitterness without forgiveness, attitudes and behaviors can arise that are unhealthy for a thriving marriage. These include the following: seething anger, holding grudges, erecting walls between the two of you, and taking revenge.

But God shows us a different way. Ephesians 4:31-32 says, “Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Click through to the video (4:56min) on our blog to hear all about it.

For further study on this topic, we give tips for how to work through bitterness and forgiveness in our book, The Marriage Dance: Moving Together As One and the companion workbook, The Marriage Dance: Practice the Steps. You can buy them on Amazon today.
