Bob and I danced in a dance showcase on Sunday. It was an outrageous thing to do because we are NOT accomplished dancers. We wanted to communicate the type of relationship God wants us to have as man and wife and the relationship He desires to have with each of us in the language this audience would understand.
God blessed our efforts. A number of people came up to us afterwards and said something like, “When you two dance, you can see the love.” (Notice: They did NOT report seeing our phenomenal dancing ability!) Most important to me was one very nice lady who I know has been deeply hurt. At times, she has teased us about our moral stance. But Sunday she came up and said, “When I watch you dance, I see the love and it kind of makes me want to cry.” (It was meant as a compliment.) I was glad. I wanted her to realize that there is a beautiful relationship that God says is possible—and it’s possible for her too if she’ll agree to do things according to His plan.
