In Wounds

You take a shy, hesitant boy who had most of life’s decisions made for him.  He’s not happy about this, but that’s how life was.  As an adult, he is hesitant when making decisions.  Who do you think he marries?  He marries the girl who had adult responsibilities thrust on her at an early age.  She wasn’t happy about it, but that’s how life was.  As an adult, she automatically takes control of situations and assumes she is in charge of fixing them.  Their broken-ness makes them seem a natural choice for each other but it also perpetuates the broken-ness.

What is the quality that drew you to your mate?  Did you choose your mate because they offered what was comfortable—what you were used to?

Here’s the good news:  Jesus came to heal the broken-ness.  We don’t have to stay in a broken state.  That hesitant man gains confidence in leading when he is being led and empowered by God.  When that woman understands that God wants to lovingly take control, she will be able to let go.

Are you willing to take your broken-ness to God and let him heal you?
