In Following, Leading, Time to Make Your Marriage Dance

Men, are you reluctant to take a leadership role in your marriage? Why? Answers we have heard are:

  1. I’m supposed to lead?
  2. The media portrays us as fools—not fit to lead.
  3. Leading is risky business. It’s safer to not say anything.
  4. My wife doesn’t listen to me anyway.

Men, God has asked you to lead in your marriage. There is a highly successful way of doing this as described in Ephesians 5:25-30. When you cherish your wife—nurture her, care for her, really sacrifice for her—as Christ does for the church, she will respect and follow your lead.

There is something ballroom dancers know: If a man leads well—if he is confident, but gentle; if he is considerate and shows off his lady in the dance—it will be a pleasure for her to follow him and she will do it gladly.

Chapter 5 of The Marriage Dance has specific ideas on how to lead well. You can purchase print or Kindle versions at Amazon, or you can read two chapters free!
